Where are we?

Peter BainbridgeThe organiser, Peter Bainbridge Jnr holds BHS qualifications and continues to successfully showjump and event his own string of horses.

The course, on sandy, free-draining land, runs across undulating permanent pasture crossing hedge lines and will be a good galloping course with excellent viewing.
There is a very impressive purpose built 25m x 40m water complex with excellent footings.
There are a number of feature fences including a mini 4 x 4 course, a sundial centre and a fun 'windmill' ditch and rail combination.

Designed to provide a good standard of mid season competition there will however be alternatives at some combinations. In the event of firm ground, full ground preparation will be undertaken.

Where Are WE...

Cumwhinton Horse Trials is situated ½ a mile from Junction 42 of the M6 just to the south of Cumwhinton village which lies south east of Carlisle

This event is set in mainly open pastureland with some wooded areas and views east to the Pennines and southwest to the Lakeland Fells. A compact layout is planned. The organising team has a wealth of experience, drawn from involvement with several other events, including the now defunct Armathwaite Hall fixture and promises to host a welcoming and very enjoyable weekend.

The Cumwhinton cross country course is to become a year-round schooling venue, with longer term development plans including upgrading the level of competition and installing all weather take-offs and landings.

Grid reference NY448526. Cumwhinton is conveniently situated just 1 mile off Junction 42

ATTENTION: M6. Competitors travelling from North East on A69 must travel south from J43 M6 to J42 M6. Do not follow signs to Cumwhitton, a village similar in name and close to Cumwhinton.
